Our Safety Promise

Fully Qualified

All of our pilots or fully qualified and registered with the Civil Aviation authority with nationally recognised qualifications. Our Pilots hold up to date versions of both the A2 Certificate of Confidence and the General Visual Line of Sight Certificate. MI Drones holds an Operator’s License with the UK Civil Aviation Authority and all pilots are personally registered too.

Fully Insured

It’s an offence to operate a drone commercially without insurance. We make sure we choose the most comprehensive cover to make sure that the public, our clients and our equipment are comprehensively covered.

Site Surveys and Risk Assessments

MI Drones has a policy that no flight will be undertaken without the appropriate risk assessments being completed. For us, that’s a 5-step approach:

1) Research of the proposed flying site

2) checks with the authorities around potential flight restrictions

3) an office-based risk assesment

4) a full site survey in advance of work being undertaken and

5) a field-based risk assessment.

If the risks, at any stage, are too great, we’ll not fly until those risks can be mitigated.

Flying in poor weather

Drones are susceptible to poor weather, whether it’s high winds, precipitation or extreme cold. MI Drones will not put the safety of the public, it’s clients or its pilots at risk due to poor weather. If work has been booked and we’re unable to fly, we’ll book a return visit as soon as we can to get your job completed for you.
